CAMP P.E.A.C.E.’s mission is to provide a safe, fun, drug-free, out of school time opportunity for youth; promoting educational enhancement, pre-entrepreneur and recreational activities, leadership, life-skills, and conflict resolution.
Camp P.E.A.C.E. is a summer enrichment program that infuses educational enhancement activities and fun. This innovative program introduces youth ages 4 to 14 years old, to entrepreneurship, personal financial management, post secondary education and career exploration, as well as community and social responsibility.
Additionally Camp PEACE partners with the City of Detroit and the Youth Development Commission to offer The Soar Program which is a youth employability and life skills training program for youth ages 14 to 21 years where youth are provided the opportunity to develop employability skills, leadership skills and life skills. Areas of exploration and training include but are not limited to: classroom instruction and management, childcare, retail customer service, office receptionist, business office assistant, food preparation, recreational and sports leadership, and inventory management. Life skills and pre-employment skills include but are not limited to professional communication, conflict resolution, drug and alcohol prevention, appropriate decision making, career and post-secondary education exploration.
